Jhalana

Jhalana Leopard Safari Park, situated in the heart of Jaipur, Rajasthan, is one of the most exciting wildlife destinations in India for observing and photographing the elusive Indian Leopard. Spread across the rugged Aravalli landscape, the reserve offers a unique opportunity to experience wildlife just outside a bustling city. Jhalana is particularly well known for its leopard population and good chances of leopard sightings. The forest is also home to a variety of mammals, birds and reptiles including Striped Hyena, Golden Jackal, Indian Hare, Nilgai, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Indian Palm Civet, Jungle Cat, Porcupine and several species of birds.

The Jhalana forest forms an important part of the Aravalli ecosystem around Jaipur. Its dry, rocky and undulating terrain, dotted with thorny forests, scrubland and hillocks, creates an ideal habitat for leopards. Unlike many large tiger reserves, Jhalana offers a very different wildlife experience where the focus is on tracking leopards and observing their behaviour in a relatively compact forest landscape.

One of the most interesting aspects of Jhalana is that it offers an opportunity to experience wildlife very close to Jaipur. The forest’s rugged terrain, rocky outcrops and open patches provide excellent opportunities for wildlife photography. With six safaris planned during this camp, we will explore the forest extensively and maximise our chances of encountering its most celebrated resident – the Indian Leopard.

iCampers is arranging yet another exciting wildlife camp to Jhalana Leopard Safari Park. We would like to restrict the camp size to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable wildlife experience for everyone. Please confirm your seats ASAP.
